Don’t Change Your Diet Plan, Change How You Feel – Here’s How

If you’ve paid attention at all to how you feel when dieting I would guess you’ve made some discoveries.  For instance it’s probably safe to say that during an eating binge or falling off your diet there was probably something that triggered it.

You may have been feeling nervous, excited, down, almost any number of emotions can trigger failing to stay on your diet.

In this article I’m going to reveal a tip that can keep you on track so you don’t go off your diet.

A lot of times we are not aware we are going off our diet until we are in the process of doing it and by then you may feel that you will feel better if you just have a little of this and that.

You know a little bite of this and I will feel good.  Of course after you eat what you didn’t want to eat or eat too much of it you may start feeling bad again, especially about your lack of will power.

Then you’re in a vicious cycle.

You don’t have to beat yourself up, just nip it in the bud.

Whenever you get a minute to yourself, think about someone that you know that’s always giving you support.  They always see the better part of you.  And if you’re having trouble doing this then think of someone that is always positive and they see the good in everything.

And if you’re still having trouble doing this then make up a fictional person whom you would imagine have these qualities.  I would guess though if you really think about it, you will come up with someone in the first example that you already know.

Now in your mind’s eye or wonderful imagination, imagine this person is looking at you and commenting on how wonderful you are and pointing out your positive qualities.

What you’re going to do is walk up behind this person and slowly become them looking at you.  Transform yourself into the other person looking at you.  Now as you look at yourself, you continue to see the positive aspects of yourself and holding a positive attitude.

Try this now, even for a second and you will notice you feel a bit different than before you did it.  Like anything else the more you do it the more positive effects you will have and feel and before long you will notice that your emotions stay on the positive side.

The benefits of your emotions on the positive side means you will be more level headed and less likely to be swayed by negative emotions.  Especially the type that derails your diet plan.

There are other twists on this method but they all lead to the same place.  Feeling better about yourself if the key to any diet and when you have small successes they begin to add up and before long. You achieve you ideal weight…

How to Keep Your Weight Loss Goal in Mind

Are you one of those unlucky types that get excited for about the first week of a new diet plan?  You’ve purchased the right exercise clothes; got the gym membership you wanted.  Or maybe just found time in your hectic schedule to do exercises while the kids are doing something else?

Everything is in place except a week or month down the road, everything is in place except you. Life happens and you’ve found about a hundred other things to do besides stay on your diet plan or weight loss workout?

What happened?

In this article I’m gong to discuss exactly what happened and how to avoid it. Even make it fun or at least have the energy to stay on target for you weight loss goal.

I would almost bet money what happened is you didn’t have a plan.  Sure you may have had a diet plan but not a plan for you.  Or should I say the part of you that has a tendency to not stay focused, to easily be distracted.

And how did you become distracted so easily you may ask?  You didn’t have a concrete goal in place. An ideal you, a future you weighing in at exactly your ideal weight.

Look at it this way.  You’ve always known what you don’t want.  You don’t want the large sizes or the clothes that fit too tight.  Or the health risks, you’re tired of the Doctor giving you the lecture every time you visit. We all know what we don’t want.
The best way to keep the part of you that wanders is give yourself the unshakable goal of knowing what you do want and a way to get there that is fun or at least doable without a lot of pain, right?

And the way you do this is have a very sharp image in your mind’s eye of what you would look like.  And just how you would act?  Ask yourself questions like what would my life be like at my ideal weight.

Now just don’t blow past this part.  Relax, close your eyes and really ponder this for a second.  What would your life be like if you were at your ideal weight?

Now you’re getting the picture.  Focus on what you do want in detail and before long you will find it easier to stay focused on your weight loss goals.

You might even find that it’s fun getting there, a lot of people have.

Stop Smoking Now by Using This One Technique

Getting over the cigarette habit and quitting the smokes for good is sometimes not that hard to do.  I know it’s easy to say when becoming smoke free at times seems like a million miles off.

You’ve may have tried many times before using will power, patches, support groups like friends, ex-smokers, etc. and still went back during the first stressful situation.

Well here is a technique that I found works and if you just give it a chance you might find that it works for you.

What have you got to lose?

It’s been found through research and interviews that successful quitters were successful because they were able to break the pattern of smoking, the habit so to speak of putting the cigarette in their mouth before they had a chance to realize what they were doing.

Let me explain.  We are a creature of habit.  Heard that before?  Well it’s true.  We have many habits or patterns that we do daily that we don’t think about.  In fact we don’t have time to think about it, we’re not built that way.

What would it be like in the morning if you thought through everything you did.

Here’s a scenario of what it would be like. The alarm clock rings and you think. Ok, I hear the alarm clock so I’m going to roll over and reach out my arm and turn it off.  Now I’m going to pull my arm back under the covers and roll over and rest for a second.

Now to roll over I need to put one leg over the other and shift my body weight as I use my shoulder to push in the direction I want to go…

See where I’m going with this?  Hardly anyone does this but their mind is doing this because we learned how to do it long time ago and now it’s a pattern, a habit so to speak that just goes off automatically.

The problem is somewhere in all these patterns we have one called smoking that is we do without thinking and we want to get rid of it because it’s not serving us anymore.

When this pattern fires we may only recognize it as an urge.  And until we satisfy that urge it will keep requesting that we follow through.  So you may get the urge to smoke even know you told yourself an hour ago you wouldn’t.

Here’s how to break the pattern.  Change the other patterns around it.  For instance while quitting smoking sleep on the different side of the bed and get up quickly if you’re one of those people that have to smoke in the morning.

Or another example is if you have to have an after dinner smoke.  Eat in a different place and immediately leave the table after eating.  You’re interrupting many patters and one of them will be the smoking pattern.  You don’t need to this forever, just long enough to quit smoking.

Be creative and come up with all sorts of ways of interrupting your patterns until you can isolate the smoking habit and find ways of interrupting this habit before it can create a desire to smoke.  Before long you’ll find your cigarette cravings just disappear!

Why is it when you want to quit smoking cigarettes, it seems like the hardest thing in the world? You’ve tried the pills and medications and you were not one of the ones that it worked on. Right now you can’t remember what that was like because you focus on the cigarette and nicotine and nothing else.

You can remember, just as you have a natural ability to relax as well as be healthy and breathe again.

Here’s a tip on how to do it. Ask yourself these questions. What was it like to relax without cigarettes before I started smoking. You know what? Even if you can’t remember right now, the more you ask yourself, the more your mind is going to find an answer.

And if you really want to know the answer you will discover it. Just like so many other areas in your life where you ask questions in the beginning and then go on to find an answer, this is no different.

The Benefits of Quitting Smoking

The benefits of quitting smoking are pretty evident but if you really think about it and actually write it down and study your lists it may be instrumental in helping you to finally quit smoking. You can find tons of information on the net detailing medical research into smoking and the effects it has on the body.

The toll it takes not only on your body but the people around you is worth considering. And you can talk and talk till your blue in the face but at the end of the day when you look back at the cigarettes you smoked you understand it’s not really that simple to put them down.

Most smokers not only develop a physical addiction to cigarettes but also a psychological addiction.  This mean that along with the nicotine levels making them want to smoke more, there are other factors like  using smokes in social situations, to control weight, etc.  Over time more and more nicotine will be required by the body to maintain the high that was experienced when the nicotine levels were first introduced.

Thus a smoker will go from a few to 10 to a pack and more. And when they try to quit the nicotine will do whatever it takes to replenish its level, like making the person nervous or a feeling of not being able to relax unless there is smoke in the system.  This is what amplifies the psychological factors of smoking.

And as we all know the more smoking that is experienced over a longer period of time will start to wear and tear on the body’s immune system. And then there’s the matter of your clothes and living areas always smelling of smoke, of course everyone notices except the smokers.  Not only that you always have yellow teeth and the simple act of climbing stairs becomes almost unbearable.

And then there’s the matter of the non smokers in your life, not only is it impolite,  it is now becoming law in many states to the point that it’s really not worth the hassle.  Not to mention smoking around children or pregnant mothers, which is a topic for another article.  So really you could make a list of all the benefits of quitting smoking and it would be much longer than the list of the advantages of smoking. And think of all the money that will be saved.

If you added up all the money spent on smoking cigarettes in your life, you will find that you could have made some major purchases of automobiles and real estate.  This fact alone motivates a lot of people to just give up the smokes.

You want to quit smoking but you can’t find the right time to do it. Because life without the cigarettes just doesn’t seem like much of a life.

Placebo Hypnosis

Excerpt from ABC News Medical Unit by AUDREY GRAYSON

In a survey of 679 general internal medicine physicians and rheumatologists, researchers from the National Institutes of Health found that about half of the doctors admitted to prescribing placebo treatments without informing the patient.

I find this very interesting because to me it proves that doctors understand the power of the mind.  And they use it to benefit their patients.

It’s the old saying, what the mind expects to happen tends to be realized.  When you know something is true as opposed to I “think” this is true, or I “hope” this is true you will experience a much different outcome.

If you’re convinced that the little blue pill will fix your ills, most of the time it will regardless of what it is.

Hypnosis Trance

What is a hypnosis trance? To me it’s a redundant term. At the time of this writing I don’t see a definition in Wikipedia. If I gave it a definition it would be the different stages of hypnosis. For instance light trance, medium trance, deep trance, etc.

More importantly is how can it help someone. I remember reading about the great Dr. Erickson and how he used to view films of ancient ritual dancing by an indigenous people from a faraway place. He would view the film for research and pick out the people that were really in trance and the ones that were following the leader or playing like they were in trance.

He would say it was quite easy. The ones in a trance had no wasted muscle movement, everything was streamline and fluid. Like a finely tuned athlete that is at the top of their game. Every thing is on automatic pilot. The conscious mind doesn’t interfere at all because the inner program works perfectly. This is a hypnosis trance that can serve us well.

The ones that don’t serve us well get our attention. Like smoking or nervous eating or nail biting. A trance going on outside of our conscious awareness that needs improvement or changing..

You can always use a hypnosis trance to arrange this program to serve in a more positive manner.

Group vs Private Session

I’m asked this question all the time on the phone. Is a group session as good as a private session. At first glance the question might seem obvious but there are times when both will work just as well.

For example, a good thing about a group is people can feel more at ease when they are with a friend. Regardless of what you see on Youtube, the more relaxed you get, the better session you’re going to experience. If you’re new to the world of hypnosis, during your first session you may not feel totally relaxed because of various reasons. Too many to go into in this article but bottom line, if you’re a little apprehensive, the conscious mind may have a little trouble giving up control. Of course the job of the hypnotist is to discuss any questions and misgivings you may have. But sometimes time gets in the way.So in this sense you can first attend a group, experience what it is like and later do a private session.

The downside of a group is everyone is different. There is no way a hypnotist is going to zero in on everyone’s problem and find a way to reprogram the unconscious mind. Again, not enough time. So a general induction for a general problem and hopefully everyone’s bad habit routines are touched on and new healthy habits are installed.

I welcome both kind of sessions. An ideal situation with a small group of 3 to 5 would be a general talk and induction and then a quick session with each individual so a specific induction and game plan can be developed.

Of course there is nothing like a private session for one on one focused attention.

Mind Training

I was reading a very interesting article by Associated Press by Kevin Maurer. The article was covering a program at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

One person is sitting on the floor, eyes closed listening to someone in a soft voice making suggestions while guitar music hums in the background. Sound familiar? I kept reading because this definitely peaked my interest.

Went on to talk about this process is an ancient form of meditation used by warriors. I would state it’s also been used for eons by non warriors also. Regardless, if it’s helping people to recover, I’m all for it no matter what words are used to describe it.

Hypnosis, meditation, mind training. In some ways they are all connected. The ability to focus on the issue at hand or to defocus on an issue that is out of hand.

Reminds me of an article earlier about how certain marines are using yoga to stay loose physically. Even know traditional yoga is focused more on mind than body, the western sect focuses more on body.

So the good thing about all this, what was considered woo woo not too long ago is now becoming mainstream. Maybe this is part of the paradigm shift we’ve heard so much about.

Lose Weight Fast Starts Here

The best way to lose weight once and for all is the ability to handle the inner dialog that goes on after you start your weight loss program. In this post I’ll explain the process and how you can overcome any resistance for old thoughts that no longer serve you.

You start a diet, you’re going to lose stomach fat once and for all, you get the latest weight loss products, the doc’s go ahead, all the right foods, even your own personal coach or at least a place to work out.

All is well for a couple of weeks and then the little thoughts start. You know the ones, put it off till tomorrow, you can exercise then. Or there is something that “seems” more important and before you know it you’re back on the couch eating ding dongs.

Because the exercising is turning into work and you’re not keeping your goal of the new you fresh in your mind. So you’re thoughts start wondering, finding something more interesting for you to do than to work out.

Think about this, if you’re workout is turning into a daily grind, where did the excitement go? You quit constructing your blueprint by losing site of your goal. So all the pieces that were in place when you started your diet, your workout program start coming apart.

It’s really a simple matter of staying focused. That is why some diet programs have you report in and they make a big party using the support system of other dieters. If you have access to this support great, if not, you can still stay focused.

One way is to continually use your imagination to think about the new you, what it will be like in the future when those stomach fat is gone or whatever it is your working on. So keep in mind that new you, refresh your goal energy. Nourish your thoughts the same way you nourish your body and you will experience the outcome just the way you thought it would be.

Losing Weight with Hypnosis (images/feelings)

Have you ever thought about dreams that you have during the night? If we are to assume that in a dream the inner mind is communicating with the conscious mind, what is the language it’s using? Does it yell out, “Hey, listen to me for a second, I’ve got something important to discuss with you.”

Maybe yours does but mine doesn’t. First of all it would just kind of be reporting in, second, it would use images and feelings. Very rarely words. Images and feelings is the language of the inner mind most of the time.

What this article is focusing on is using this language in reverse. For instance if we were to imagine ourselves 20 lbs lighter, what would we look like? How would our clothes fit? You have to use your imagination to do this, let it run wild. Focus on the details, what clothing would fit and how would it fit, and how would it feel to achieve this.

Now we’re talking the language that the inner mind understands. It’s starting to get the blueprint down. And you know what? If it has an objection or thinking that runs against the grain on this “new you,” it will let you know. In a way that is just right for you.

Let’s take an example. You see/feel yourself 20 lbs lighter in the months ahead. You focus on this and really get into it.

By doing this questions will arise. How do I do this? With a plan.
What plan? One that is safe and right for you. You will find it.

Now if my doctor says I’m able to join an exercise program, which one? One that you will enjoy. Which one is that?

Your inner mind is getting into the picture now, it may suggest something that you haven’t done in a long time. The first thought that pops up may be: “oh that’s silly, I can’t do that at my age”. Oh yea, who says?

Now you’re getting the picture, and your inner mind is getting the picture and together you will discover new ways, exciting ways to stay on your diet, to eat healthy, to have fun exercising, it’s endless. And it all started with your imagination.

You know there’s a lot of nice, wonderful things in life that started in someone’s imagination… maybe in your imagination.

Quit Smoking Time Machine

This technique can be very powerful when you are in a mild state of hypnosis. If nothing else it is food for thought. Our mind delivers messages all the time when it’s time to stop smoking. Could be why you’re reading this page. As your inner mind monitors your different systems it can tell when a train wreck is on the horizon and you start getting that feeling that it might be time to stop.

What I get across to my clients is that this feeling is something to rejoice, that the end of cigarette addiction is just around the corner. With hypnosis you can get the feeling of “Thank God that is out of my life.” Instead of the feeling that your giving up your relaxing cigarettes. This is the turning point.

Hypnotism For Weight Loss

Yes, you can loose weight with hypnosis. People have been doing it for years. It’s really not hard to do. You have to really want to lose weight but most of my clients do. Now some want to sit on the couch and eat fat foods and wait and see if that “hypnotism stuff” works.

The first thing you learn about hypnosis is it’s not mind control, regardless of what you see on the net. Unless you want your mind to be controlled by yourself, to be laser focused on the issue at hand, like losing those extra pounds.

This is where hypnosis is most effective, is when you show up to your session with the mindset that ” I’m going to do this and nothing, not even myself is going to stop me.” You do your part, you allow your inner mind to be programmed with the most positive suggestions and images concerning your issue like weight loss. You “KNOW” it will work, not ” I sure hope this works”.

When you have that frame of mind nothing will stop you. You will find ways to be excited about working out or being active. You will find ways to stay focused on the new image of your body. All you need is a little help from a good hypnotist to find the inner treasures and do get rid of the negative programming.

Important Weight Loss Goal

I’m in the process of making a new weight loss download mp3’s and remembered just how important it is to set a goal. Things just keep happening to take me away from the recordings. Then I remembered that I hadn’t defined my goal well enough.

Even with something like a recording project, if I have a goal of an end time, write it down and adjust my schedule it comes to pass. Of course this is nothing new and any successful weight loss client knows exactly what it will be like when they are the desired weight.

The first part of the recording is explaining how the inner mind is always waiting for it’s marching orders, it’s blueprint if you will. Once it has that, the unconscious mind will find ways to make it come about.

Think about this for a moment. You know what you don’t want. For instance you know you don’t want to have excess weight to carry around. Ok, we know that, but what do you want? Have you thought about that? What exactly do you want?

This is what I’m talking about. Knowing what you “do” want, not what you don’t want. This is an important first step. In my new recordings I explain in detail how you go about finding what you want and amplifying it to the point that your inner mind is more than happy to get the ball rolling and bring your goal into reality.

My TV the Hypnotist Part 1

Sometimes I think my TV is just as good at hypnosis as I am. In fact I know it is…

When I’m asked what hypnotism is, part of the answer that comes to mind is a TV set.
(I think the term now is home media center or wide screen but you get the picture.)

One part of the definition of hypnosis is: critical factor bypass. This means “if” the conscious mind with all its ability to question and judge information presented to it is bypassed. The subconscious/inner mind is then susceptible to a suggestion.

Lets’ take one analogy and compare it to your TV… if you’re watching a commercial with a funny script, say someone in a compromising position, doing something funny, etc. while you’re occupied with being entertained there will be an announcer telling you how great there product is, the benefits, what it can do, be sure to look for it, it goes on and on….how many of these suggestions got in while you were distracted?

Do you sleepwalk like a robot and go immediately to buy the product? No

Are you still protected by your conscious mind? Of course.

The point here is a seed is planted and like a suggestion or a positive statement that you say to yourself over and over. If this suggestion is repeated enough and you’re in the market for it, guess which product you’re going to be drawn to? The one from the commercial or the one with a limited advertising budget?

Now this is just one example of many.

Lose 20 Lbs or 25 Lbs?

When you’re ready to lose weight, do you know how much? Do you use the wait and see approach or do you know exactly? You know and I know the ones that will lose the weight know exactly how much they want to lose and they lose it.

Now how you go about it may not be perfectly clear but knowing how much is the critical first step.

Because you’re giving the inner mind something to work with, something definite. You see this is the language it understands, being literal. Now it has it’s blueprint. When you say, “gee, I would like to lose weight”, the inner mind has no idea how much so it just bounces off one idea to the next.

When you say, “I’m going to lose 25lbs, in a safe amount of time and I’m going to wear that blue dress that’s hanging in the back of the closet.” Now we got something definite.

Start engaging all the senses in seeing the future you, or feeling the future you. Hearing what people will say, but most important feeling that inner gusto of achieving your goal. Kind of like melding the future you into who you are now. “Think from it, not of it.”

How it happens is where hypnosis and your inner mind comes in to make it an easier journey.

The best way to make it happen quickly is to have a clear picture or feeling and know exactly how much you’re going to lose. It’s that simple, and you know the old saying, the journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step…enjoy your journey!

Someone you know quit smoking?

There was an article today that from Associated Press talking about how researchers
conducted test to show that a smoker is more likely to kick their smoking habit
if a spouse, co-worker, friend or sibling did.

Quitting in groups is what the article is about and it discusses the psychology of it.

It’s the old peer system. If you think about it, that is how you start smoking, the
peer system. Your cool friends, a respected adult or even a movie star or rock star
is puffing away in film and photographs. This has a profound effect on anyone’s judgment and then ad in the desire to fit in and click goes the lighter and you’re puffing away.

Problem is over time some people put them down others keep puffing.

Researchers are also finding the same data with obesity but that is another blog post but
the group effect still applies.

As a hypnotist that works with smokers and has studied this subject for years, I find
the sub-conscious mind has the ability to model someone that has quit smoking.

By this I mean your subconscious picks up information that your conscious mind is not aware of when there is a desire to do something like stop smoking. In hypnosis or out your inner mind can collect the informational resources that you can use to quit smoking yourself.

Add to this mix the deep desire to achieve the desired outcome and the subconscious will perform like it always does. Finding ways that your conscious mind is either not aware of
or you suddenly remember something that will work perfectly for you.

Using hypnosis makes this whole process quicker and more focused so there is less withdrawal time.

As I tell my clients it’s going from missing your best friend to “thank God that is out of my life”, that makes the ride smoother.

Online Self Hypnosis

In one of the lessons from the newsletter I discussed the blackboard routine and how you count backwards. In this blog post I will discuss this process a little more in detail so you can know there are many ways to do self-hypnosis, it’s just a matter of finding what works for you.

If I were to tell a client, imagine you’re standing before a blackboard and writing numbers on it. Some people will see themselves standing at a black board, some will be associated to their person and looking out and seeing their hand writing or even someone else’s hand writing.

They may not “see” anything. That is ok, what would it be like to feel the chalk as you write numbers and then feel the eraser as you erase? What would it smell like? What would it sound like? Do you understand what I’m saying here? Everyone senses are different as far as when they use their imagination.

Find which one works for you, maybe they all work for you. If you can’t locate what does work for you then remember a time you were standing at a blackboard in school and make it up from there or remember a teacher that you used to watch write on a blackboard.

If you use your imagination and know that this scene could come to you in any number of ways using any of your sensory input then you will do just fine.

The main thing is the numbers, not the scene at this point. Have the numbers being written and then erased. We are slowing down the conscious mind.

Napoleon Hill Directing the sub-conscious

Jasbales on Youtube has posted this dated video of Napoleon Hill. He is the man that wrote ” Think and Grow Rich”. What I would like to focus on in this rare video is how he talks about controlling your own mind and the advantages of doing this.

I would like to break it down further and apply it to something like ” being smoke free” for example or “losing weight”. Not that the bigger picture that he talks about is not important but sometimes when you use your own mind to overcome bad habits, this can be a stepping stone to the larger picture.

Writing things down for example is an excellent way for the inner mind to get it’s blueprint. As I tell all my clients, “you know what you don’t want, tell the inner mind what you do want”. Armed with this information the inner mind starts finding solutions to a pressing problem like smoking.

To find what you do want you have to use your imagination. This is an important key to hypnosis. The inner mind responds, whether the concept is real or imagined. Think about this for a moment.

If you can see, feel, hear, smell what it would like to be smoke free, or be at that perfect weight , this is the new you. The you of the future, and by using hypnosis you can speed up this process to where you are thinking “from” the future, not “of it”.

How to Lose Weight

This is a very interesting movie about raw food which is very popular right now. I always recommend checking with your medical adviser before starting any diet. With that said, what intrigues me about this movie is the young lady that wanted to leave at first but has a late night revelation. “Now my mind is allowing my body to heal.”

I don’t know what experience she had but a lot of times the unconscious mind talks to us in dreams. The important thing is now her mind is on board with her program and she becomes unstoppable. It’s the old saying, change your mind and every thing else will follow.

Using the imagination in setting your goal, in this case weight loss, starts the whole process. This gives your unconscious mind a blueprint to work with. It’s a matter of knowing what you do want, your inner mind already knows what you don’t want.

Raw Food is very hot and popular right now. It seems more and more people are hearing the message. Another fine example is even Walmart is selling organic food and their sales are skyrocketing. So hopefully this trend will continue and Walmart starts buying their organic vegetables from local farmers.

Recently I was able to read an interesting ebook by Dada Vedaprajinananda. If you want to learn about meditation this is definitely a detailed intro. Now most of the smokers that I deal with may not be ready for something this informative. But I do have some that a journey that this ebook provides might be just the thing.

Even if you don’t get into meditation as deep as Dada Vedaprajinananda is prepared to take you, I think you would still find the tools that you would need to quit smoking. In a way you could look at your unwanted smoking habit as an entrance way into meditation, so in the long run all the money you’re wasting on cigarettes has actually led to something much deeper. Affects of Smoking video not gross

This video is about the only one I could find that wasn’t that gross. I like it because it can make you think. Most clients that I’ve had over the years had seen all the gross pictures. Just spend 5 min. on YouTube and you will see some disgusting pictures of people that smoked cigarettes for years.

But you know what? Very few people stop because of pictures or movies. Any smoker can tell you that they need to quit but they still light up. When a client comes in and says to me, “Well, I’m 32 now and I hear if I quit now my lungs have a good chance of recovering, etc.”

That tells me there is hope but there’s no burning desire. Like anything else in life, if you want it bad enough your unconscious mind will find a way. Mix in an experienced hypnotist and you can overcome any addictive issue in a lot less time.

It’s just a bad habit mixed with a easy to remove addiction. Think about that as you watch this video.

What happens during a session?

At the beginning of your visit you will fill out a short intake form. I will need to know if you are presently under a medical professionals care and if there are any health issues that may interfere with the session. We will then discuss your particular issue in more detail. Also, we will talk for a while about hypnosis, so I can alleviate any fears or misconceptions you might have.

I have found that once people are better informed about hypnosis and how the session works, they understand that they will be relaxed, alert and in control. The techniques I use to induce relaxation and bring about the desired changes are based on the individual’s needs. The session normally lasts from 1 to 2 hours on the first visit. Follow-up sessions, if needed, are usually shorter.

F A Q’s

1. Can a hypnotist make me do things against my will?

No. The hypnotist has no powers over you at all, and cannot make you do things against your will. The hypnotist merely guides you into a hypnotic state, and feeds your mind with carefully worded suggestions. If you were to feel uncomfortable with these suggestions, you would reject them at will. Hypnosis is essentially a matter of cooperation between the hypnotist and his subject, not some form of power the hypnotist possesses which will compel the subject to submit to his or her will.
2. Could I ever be hypnotized and not be able come out of it?

If you are under hypnosis and the hypnotist suddenly left the room, two things may happen. You will either realize that the hypnotist is no longer talking to you, and will open your eyes, feeling fresh and alert. Or you may drift into natural sleep, in which case you will wake up after a few minutes.

3. Is it true only weak-minded people can be hypnotized?

False, Hypnosis has nothing to do with will power. People often confuse hypnosis with gullibility. There is no connection between the two. On the contrary, the more intelligent a person is, the easier it is for him to be hypnotized. To be hypnotized one needs the abilities of concentration, imagination and vivid visualization.

4. Under hypnosis, can one be made to reveal his secrets?

As already mentioned, under hypnosis the subject is fully alert, in fact more alert, in fact more alert than usual. The hypnotist can only guide the subject to remember forgotten memories. Whether the subject will reveal them to the hypnotist is entirely at his own discretion.

5. Is hypnosis dangerous?

No. It is quiet the opposite. Hypnosis is safe and natural process. One fact that most people are unaware of is that we undergo hypnosis several times in our daily lives. For example, while driving along a highway, watching television, listening to music, listening to a speaker, how dangerous is that?

6. Does one need special talents to be hypnotized?

Any average person with the willingness to relax can experience hypnosis. It is just a matter of finding and eliminating misconceptions or fears about the hypnotic process and allowing it to unfold.

7. When experiencing hypnosis, will I be totally unconscious?

At all times during the course of a hypnotic session, you will be able to hear and think. You are aware of what is going on around you. Although you body is very relaxed, your mind is actually more alert than usual.

All Hypnosis is Self-Hypnosis

Nothing happens in a hypnosis session unless you are in full agreement. There has to be a bond between the hypnotist and the client. Think of it as a contract in which you as the client will do what is asked to facilitate the session for a positive outcome. In this process you will start to realize what hypnosis is and how you are really the one in control. The hypnotist actually becomes a guide to keep you on the path to where you want to go. After awhile you will discover that you can do self-hypnosis anytime. I usually work this into sessions as we go along, so you will learn the techniques that are right for you. Of course there are situations where you will need the experience of a skilled hypnotist to keep you heading towards your goal.
